The Shadow Self Empowerment

The Shadow Self Empowerment was channelled by Jay M. Burrell on 28 December 2011 and released on 8 May 2012, and it asks for more of the student than most attunements do. The shadow self is described as the part of us that sabotages relationships and work, denies the spirit and keeps us from our own dreams, the buried aspect we sweep under the rug and hope will be forgotten. It shows itself in the judgements we place on other people, because what we cannot find in ourselves we begin to see in them.

The manual's argument is that hiding an aspect of who you are gives it more power over you, and that every quality you dislike in yourself holds a gift once it is reclaimed. Because the self work is intensive, the author asks that students already hold Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho or Usui Tate Reiki level two or above. Seven archangels are named as helpers, each with a colour and a role, and a meditation for meeting them is given, preceded by grounding.
